Daily Prompt: A Silhouette View…

via Daily Prompt: Silhouette

Next time you are ready to criticise somebody and tear strips off their words or actions, remember that you have only been shown A Silhouette View; a representation of someone or something showing the shape and outline only.

Before you judge, look closer for the finer detail.

Challenge your perspective; wait for some light on the situation and see the situation in 3D!

Much love,

I am more than…but no more than…

Today my energy is low, I can’t say why because today is no different than any other day.  I didn’t do anything different than I did yesterday.

But this illness is unpredictable and that means that you can plan anything you want but whether you will achieve it or not is unpredictable and varies from day to day.

That’s just a part of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue which I have had to learn to accept.

My WP Stats are unpredictable as you can see…just like my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue but I say that’s ok…I am not my WP Stats or my fibro/fatigue… I don’t need to fight… I accept… I am more than and yet no more than my innermost being…my true self!

My illness does not define me as a person.  It is not my story, I am not my fibromyalgia and I hope my blog shows exactly that!  I am not a victim. I don’t need sympathy or pity and I don’t feel sorry for myself.  Fibromyalgia does not make me into ‘someone’ – I already am someone exactly as I am…And that to me is ‘peace’…and therefore happiness!  I wish each and everyone of you ‘peace’… and happiness, no matter what story you choose for yourself!

Much love,

Marie xx

Daily Prompt: Allergic reaction!

via Daily Prompt: Allergic

There are remedies for allergic reactions…

(Antihistamines are drugs which treat allergic reactions and can give relief when a person has nasal congestion, sneezing, or hives because of pollen, dust mites, or animal allergy. Wikipedia)
If only there were remedies which treat our sometimes unquestioned allergic reaction to human beings we see as being ‘different’ to us, whether it is in gender, colour, race, or religious beliefs!
Or maybe we pride ourselves on being non-judgemental yet stand by in silence when a friend, relative or colleague is not so open-minded.
Imagine how healthy it would be to be allergy free and see all human beings as an extension of ourselves!
I’ve found so many blogs where people open up and share their struggles without the fear of judgement here on WordPress…let’s cause a tidal wave,
let’s pay it forward into every social media platform and every interaction we have today!
We can make a difference!
Much love,
Marie xx

Cead Mile Failte – A Hundred Thousand Welcomes!

A Heartfelt Irish Welcome!

Hi, I’m Marie and this is my SPACE where I get to CREATE and indulge my love of writing, learning and reaching out to you!

I love the interactions and connections I’m making here on WordPress and I’ve mentioned it in this post

I believe writing is cathartic and sharing our stories opens us up to conversations that can broaden our perspective and enhance our world view.  I also believe we are amazing human beings with endless potential and we have the power to empower!

I will leave you with one of my favourite quotes

Grace Paley wrote “If you say what’s on your mind in the language that comes to you from your parents and your street and friends you’ll probably say something beautiful.”

My door is always open, please pop in to visit anytime!

Much love,

Marie xx

Saturday reflection…The Gift of the Gab!…the art of Conversation.

via Daily Prompt: Conversation

The Gift of the Gab…Conversation…talking!

I’m Irish, so need I say more??

I love people and

I love good conversation.

I love watching women in cafès having heart to heart conversations.

I love listening to my male students having whole-hearted conversation at break time.

I love when my students get knee deep in conversation during group discussions.

I love when students gain enough confidence to join into conversations and share their opinions.

I feel sad when students tell me they haven’t spoken a word of conversation to another human being since our previous class.

I feel it’s time to make a change, to make a difference…We all need conversation!

So let’s reach out and start a conversation with someone today.  In a shop, on the street and if  you lack confidence in your conversation skills and all else fails…come to Ireland and kiss the Blarney Stone…guarantees you an instant…Gift of the Gab!

Much love,

Marie xx

Twelve Days of Quotes…Eight…Living.

“This life is for loving, sharing, learning, smiling, caring, forgiving, laughing, hugging, helping, dancing, wondering, healing, and even more loving. I choose to live life this way. I want to live my life in such a way that when I get out of bed in the morning, the devil says, ‘aw shit, he’s up!”

Steve Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

I came across this wonderful quote today which to me simply exudes life and sums up what living is all about. I had the pleasure of sharing lunch out with some of my students today and what a lovely experience it was…all of the above and more!  My heart and soul left that gathering, dancing and singing and I’m so grateful for the wonderful people I have met on my life journey and for the experiences that open up to me!

Seomrah Feithimh…Waiting Room. Don’t live your life in the Waiting Room…waiting for the right person, the right moment, the right weather!

Is your life packed with living? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Much love,

Twelve Days of Quotes…Four…Hope!

“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts”.

Eleanor Roosevelt.

‘Hope’ knows it is a small word but when it grows up it wants to become a big word like ‘anticipation’. Nothing will stop it in its path.  Never give up on hope, anticipate the best and watch as the old gives way to the new!

Twelve Days of Quotes…Three…Affirmation!

Our loyal dog Juke (aka fab yacko), makes his belief in her, explicit to our daughter Emma!

Affirmation awakens the soul, frees the spirit and tells the body… anything is possible!”

Marie Clancy.

Don’t assume that people know their value. Name the strengths you see in them…help them see their strenghts too!

For more reading…here’s a good starting point

Can you add any affirmation that has worked for you? What happened as a result?

Much love,
