“Encourage Yourself Encourage Others” Anne Devine

Yes, just like the photo, lives have been turned sideways, and upside down.  But, we are resilient and we can adjust!

If you are lucky enough to be able to visit a beach, share your photo or link in the comments below. If you’re in lockdown and can’t visit a beach, don’t be afraid to dream up one!

Find a photo of a recent trip to the beach on your phone or better still dust of an old photo album and find one there.  Memories are powerful!  Relive those memories, smell the sea, hear the sounds all around you.  Share what you recall, with others in the comments below or with those present around you.

Life is sometimes choppy, sometimes calm.  Find the calm today and encourage others to find the calm too!

Le grà,

Mindfully Marie xx

Please join me daily as I share words of encouragement from “Encourage Yourself  Encourage Others.”

We may be restricted in our movements but we need not be restricted in creating empowering thoughts and actions.

I’m going to work backwards through my friend’s gem of a book as we countdown these unprecedented days that we can choose to see as a gift.

Are you ready to empower yourself over the next 99 days?

I encourage you to take a moment or two in silence to contemplate these quotes.

Just One Minute Monday… Child-self!

20180907_154108
Your Child-self helped create your present picture, how you choose to fill the shelf now is up to a very capable you!

Consider your inner child… your child-self that has got you to where you are today, through the good and the bad!

It’s time to show your child-self the love and appreciation they deserve.  Shower them with an abundance of love at every opportunity. Listen to them when they are sad or angry, they have an important message they want you to hear.  Be gentle and kind in how you talk to and treat yourself… this impacts your child-self.  Encourage your child-self to relax, to make time for fun and leave their worries about your future in your capable adult hands.

Now just sit back, be patient and watch yourself flourish!

Much love,

Marie xx

My wish for you today…

20161101_123947

My wish for you today… is that you, like me, find the greatest adventures in the simple things, like having a car picnic or watching the wind scattering leaves like confetti, across your lawn!

In what simple things do you find the greatest adventure?

Shur you have Spain at home!

When I was young and in a moaning mood (which was very rare!), my Nana would look gently at me and say “whist, don’t be complaining, shur you have Spain at home!”

Of course I wouldn’t be impressed as I knew that my self-pity was not going to be entertained!  But as I grew up, I knew Nana meant count your blessings, be grateful for what you have and appreciate every bit of it!  And she was so right!  I’m so thankful to have had the benefit of her shared wisdom by growing up in a three generational home.

You can’t beat a blue sky!

I’m feeling very privileged to be enjoying a week in Spain, soaking up the splendid sunshine, (which can be sporadic in Ireland), getting time for the simple pleasures and realising that during the other 51 weeks of the year “shur I have Spain at home.”

It’s all about the simple things!

“Shur what’s your Spain at home?”

Much love,

Remember to Forget…

Remembering to forget is probably one of the best gifts you can give yourself.

Whether it is that you need to…

Forget that they weren’t there for you,

Forget that they didn’t understand,

Forget that the system failed you,

Forget that they told you that you needed to be more resilient,

Or

Forget that they didn’t think before they spoke unhelpful words…

Emma’s little piece of handiwork, a new-found talent. Being lost in flow is a great way to forget about having to remember to forget!

Just know that you were good enough as you were and that likewise it was also the best they had to give at that time.

Accept the situation as it was and look deep inside to adapt and improve yourself.  Don’t live on your expectations of them…

Enhance your now…remember to forget.

Just forget!

Much love,

Marie xx
