Calmkate, aroused Fun Friday… Unusual
Mindfully Marie xx
Paula’s Light prompts of Brazil, Nut & petunia for some weird reason made me think of a bit of random fun and joy. Where that idea came from I don’t know but I’m learning to trust and follow my gut feeling… so read on if you’re in the market today for some joyful poppycock and in case you’ve never come across some poppycock before and need a little confirmation of what it is, here’s a few synonyms… to leave you in little doubt!
Synonyms: applesauce [slang], balderdash, baloney (also boloney), beans, bilge, blah (also blah-blah), blarney, blather, blatherskite, blither, bosh, bull [slang], bunk, bunkum (orbuncombe), claptrap, codswallop [British], crapola [slang], crock, drivel, drool, fiddle, fiddle-faddle, fiddlesticks, flannel [British], flapdoodle, folderol (also falderal), folly, foolishness, fudge, garbage, guff, hogwash, hokeypokey, hokum, hoodoo, hooey, horsefeathers [slang], humbug, humbuggery, jazz, malarkey (also malarky), moonshine, muck, nerts [slang], nuts, piffle, nonsense, punk, rot, rubbish, senselessness, silliness, slush, stupidity, taradiddle (or tarradiddle), tommyrot, tosh, trash, trumpery, twaddle
Sometimes you can’t
find the joy,
in Ireland or in Brazil
nuts, but it makes you think,
Where’s the Joy gone?
And how can you reclaim it?
Sleep on it,
The wise man said
And ask The Universe,
that’s the boy
to ask for joy
And let it manifest.
So nap I did, and what a trip
with little provocation,
and no apparent
rhyme or reason…
A Purple Pimpernel appeared
In a dream
(You won’t be dissapointed if you take a look)
the petunia knew
the purple hue
was the cue to it’s joy-cation!
What a random load of poppycock!
With fun & joy,
Mindfully Marie xx
Jokingly but in earnest…
like an octopus,
trying to cope with soooo many things,
I need an umbrella,
to shield me from their onslaught,
from the perpetrators
could be the solution to this pollution
But most days
a good laugh or a sleep brings the best relief!
Christmas has been family orientated, restful and restorative. Today I want to wish you a very happy New Year and share my word for the new year ahead.
The word I want to focus on is JOY. I want to continue what was my new focus on GRATITUDE over the last twelve months and develop it into GRATITUDE that highlights the JOY in my life!
I want to find JOY in the ordinary. I want to find joy when I wake up every morning to help me shift the NAT (negative automatic thought) that always tells me I’m exhausted despite what should have been adequate sleep. I want to find JOY at every opportunity, no matter how my body feels and I want to do my best to bring that feeling of JOY into the lives of those around me!
Here is some of the JOY that I found already today…
A lie on in bed, reading blogs, reading and replying to amazing comments, a lazy breakfast with no eye on the time and surrounded by family, an unexpected hug of appreciation and writing this post to share with you!
What brought JOY into your day? How did you share it with others?
What is your word for the new year?
When I look back on the past year or two of blogging and consider this particular post, PRIVILEGE…
I feel even more privileged than I did back then. I feel privileged because I’ve come to know myself better by sharing my thoughts and feelings.
I’ve gained some new and life changing perspectives from insightful comments received from you wonderful bloggers.
I feel really privileged because an unexamined life is like a broken circle or a half circle, you think there’s a piece missing. I’m slowly realising that I am a full circle, I’m seeing that the pieces were there all along, just out of view! I’m enjoying this process, this unique journey and I’m no longer worried about who I will become because I am, I already am!
Do you feel privileged? What makes you feel privileged? Has your view of privilege changed in the past year or two?
My wish for you today… is that you, like me, find the greatest adventures in the simple things, like having a car picnic or watching the wind scattering leaves like confetti, across your lawn!
In what simple things do you find the greatest adventure?
Today I’m spending the day relaxing on Inch Beach in the beautiful County Kerry. Inch is just one of many amazing spaces along the Wild Atlantic Way. You can check it out here…
Today is a public holiday, part of the June Bank Holiday and we have fantastic temperatures between 22 and 25 degrees. You can check out Met Eireann here…
And in the middle of all this beauty and relaxation I’m taking one minute to be really grateful and mindful of this beautiful weather. It has been a long winter and a sunny day lifts everybody’s spirit! It’s heart-warming to hear conversations and laughter blowing on the breeze and to see families spending time together, outdoors, soaking up the sun, building sand castles and swimming or surfing in the sea. It also brings back many fond memories of holidays spent on the beach with our two children when they were young.
What might your Just one minute Monday be?
