Vanished, A novel by Mark Bierman — Mark Bierman

Today I wish to take some time to promote my novel, Vanished. Now, I must be honest with you, I never thought I’d write a story about human trafficking How it all began and why: My father was a building contractor and had been to the impoverished nation of Haiti a number of times. […]

Occasionally I like to reblog a good post.  Also portion of the money raised from the sale of Mark Bierman’s book goes to charity.

The Power is yours… Quote No. 6 “Encourage Yourself Encourage Other”

Quote No.6 from Encourage Yourself Encourage Others by Anne Devine.

20200530_103105

If you struggle with low confidence, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, inferiority feelings or imposter syndrome which has been described as a feeling of being fake or believing you only achieved success because you were in the right place at the right time.  You may also believe you are not as competent as other work colleagues, other mothers, other bloggers, or you may struggle to accept praise or to bask in the glory of your achievements.  If any of these sound familiar to you then affirmations can help you to deal with and manage these challenges.

Talking about these challenges can help normalise them and help us realise that it’s ok to be human and to admit our struggles.

I’ve doubted my ability as an adult educator and I was able to overcome these doubts by reminding myself that “I am a competent and capable adult educator.”

Encouragement is a powerful tool!  Encourage Yourself  Encougage Others is a powerful tool kit.

What do you struggle with?

What affirmation do you use or might you use from now on?

Today I’d like to share Terri’s post where she has gathered a selection of posts to helps us thrive, not just survive with Fibromyalgia/CFS and she reminds us that

“May 12th is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.In fact, the whole month of May is dedicated to raising awareness of fibromyalgia.”

What could be more convenient as we continue to raise awareness than having all these dedicated bloggers and their blogs within easy reach!

The month is long, and lockdown longer still so we have the time and opportunity to educate ourselves a little more.  Happy reading and learning.

I feel like Anne wrote this one especially for me!

I’m enjoying the challenge of showing up to my blog, almost daily, to share Anne’s warm and insightfully encouraging quotes.  I’m also writing a gratitude journal.  Reading back through my Journal on Christmas Day last was the best gift I gave myself for Christmas and I’m pretty sure my happiness in sharing some precious memories flowed over onto my family.

What do you do to encourage yourself and encourage others?

What have you done during Lockdown that’s been new to you?

I’ve taken part in a Zoom poetry club and a Zoom Cafe Adler.  They were fun and they gave me the opportunity for some new learning.  I enjoyed the sense of community and it helped replace the social interaction I’ve been missing!  I’ve also been busy sharing and enjoying these positive quotes and the lovely interactions they are creating for me!

Please share something you’ve never done before, something new and different that you’ve been doing!

In the Face of Fatigue…and Pandemic

IMG-4fba18b26018cd7d9c894ddf5e2ffcf1-V
If Doris can face it so can we!

To all who struggle with this pandemic or any chronic illness, this is for you, just know you are never alone, you are in the best of company…

It crumbles like sand
Overcome by a wave

Stealing your inspiration

Or your power to investigate.

Physical tasks must be trimmed
Right down to the quick,

Mental tasks tease,

Like a shadows in the sun
Now you see me…

now I’m gone!

So quickly it fades,
From functioning… To falter,
What felt like a good day or good hour,
consumed and usurped,
Leaving you literally stranded in the midst of stuff!
It dehydrates your thoughts,
It punctures and deflates,
She has you caught
Laughs and knows she’s fine,

while she has you there,
Then leaves you short
Refusing to repay the debt.

So does it defeat you
Steal from you and
Rob you blind?
Or can you befriend it?
Mould and adjust it?
Even a little at a time?

Well, those are questions you pose
And repose, numerous times each day,
As you show up to a
Battle that could go either way!

And is there an answer
To this piece of arithmetic?
Is there is vacination
That can do the trick?

Well the answer is as fickle
As the ego, when it’s in full play
And it defies all logic
On any given day!

Sadly it’s more complex,
As it’s catching in your breath
And the answers
at best, are really hit and miss!

Some discovered and uncovered
Are a chumley mix of tricks
Such as

Pause… and take a moment, to simply catch your breath…

And with dire warning…

Never, ever, use the words…

‘I expect’…
“Rest,” my Da would say…
“Hold your horses, sweet Marie”

Now I recall his kindness
and cherish his request

I dismount & recoup
Heeding his bequest!

Then like a flame rekindling,
Though; not as quickly as it faded
With a streak of determination
You saddle up again…

A dawn of inspiration seeps in slowly, like the morning sun
And brings with it a power, to investigate anon and

With a steely determination
So worn and battle weary,
You acknowledge your, position or condition
And face the day quite cheery!

And with the wisdom of any moment, being yet again undone
You accept what you can
And leave the rest…

unsung!

To all who struggle with this pandemic or any chronic illness, this is for you, just know you are not alone, we are in the best of company!

Le grà,

And with warm Irish hugs!

Mindfully Marie xx

The Power is yours… Quote No.91 “Encourage Yourself Encourage Other”

Welcome!

To check out the backstory The Power is yours… Quote No.99 “Encourage Yourself Encourage Others”

Quote 91

20200330_231416

Did you have to adjust your phone or other technology in order to read this quote?

Did that throw you off momentarily?

I’m deliberately trying to pull you into the moment. I’m hoping to take you out of the trance of daily life.  Out of autopilot.

A few weeks ago we spent a lot of time in autopilot, thinking of everything we had to do.

Today we have an opportunity to stay with those tomatoes…

because we have been given the gift of time!
