The Power is yours… Quote No. 4 “Encourage Yourself Encourage Other”

Quote No.4 from Encourage Yourself Encourage Others by Anne Devine.

20200605_094551

I’d be lying if I said that today’s quote didn’t apply to me.

As a matter of fact Anne must have placed this quote right here especially for me to find it today!

It has been a challenging few days but I am in a good place thanks to a number of different things, namely,

The support of my wonderful family, good friends, time, acknowledging and accepting my emotions, owning my voice, speaking my truth, non-judgemental love allowing me accept that I can’t control how other people react but I can control how I react and accepting that my private logic is my perspective and that others are entitled to their private logic or their perspective too.

Knowing that “Each challenge helps you to grow” is a great insight and I am blessed being able to understand that without challenges we would never flourish or reach our potential.  “Today is a good day.  I Choose to make it so.”

Thank you Anne for this wonderful tool kit brimming with love, forgiveness, self-care reminders and boundless encouragement!

The Power is yours… Quote No. 27 “Encourage Yourself Encourage Other”

Quote No.27 from Encourage Yourself Encourage Others by Anne Devine.

20200513_093749

Isn’t it amazing when you stop to think about it?  There are thousands of blogs and bloggers here, yet no two bloggers are the same or have the same voice.  Each voice speaks to me in it’s own unique way!  Do you agree?  I know I have come to recognise so many wonderful, insightful, warm and entertaining voices.  I hope you see yourself in my list!  Embrace your unique self!

And as for flaws!  Couldn’t we write a book on flaws and what a creation that would be! We all have flaws.  Learning to embrace our imperfection is the gateway to possibility…

Will you run to or away from that gateway today?

Mindfully Marie xx

A fond farewell…Juke

20160206_115506
Juke had the ability to look into our souls.

On Friday our much loved Polish Lowland Sheep dog Juke, quietly passed away.  I am as upset as if I lost a close relative.  He was a wonderful watch dog and a very important part of our family.

I want to share Emma’s tribute to Juke from her Instagram account @Dorismakesmyday

Emma…

“I dont know how I can sum up 14 years in a couple of paragraphs, but here goes.

I remember the first day you came home, sitting by my mothers legs, not even reaching her knee. I remember all the hours we spent, you sitting on the picnic table while I brushed your coat, remarkably calm only for those few moments.

I remember your hatred for the vet, and how he put a name to that face you were famous for, the ‘fuck off face.’  His amazement at how much sedative it took to finally put you under before your neuter. (Enough to sedate a German Shepard & a Jack Russel)

Your love for car journeys, how you sat by my side looking out the window on all our camping adventures and how you would wake us up at the crack of dawn to let us know someone had passed our window, much to our frustration.

How you made Marley, of Marley and Me, look like the worlds best behaved dog by destroying our lawnmower (you ate the basket), our deep freezer (you ate the power cord), our camper van (by eating the spark plug), our couch and our car (by destroying the wheel arch).

But mostly I will remember you as the fiercely independent and fearless dog you were. How affection wasn’t your thing but yet when I was sad or anxious you always knew. Despite your total dislike for cuddles, you would come and sit by me and let me wrap my arms around you and cry until you decided I was feeling better and then you would go back to being the aloof boy that you were.

Thank you for being my therapist, my entertainment, my best friend and my inspiration. Thank you for being brave till the very end. 14 years wasn’t long enough but they were the best 14 years I could have asked for. I will miss your little sausage tail and your happy little trot. I love you, I miss you.”

Juke wasn’t impressed with Emma’s choice of pink but he patiently let her dress him up!

Write for One or 501…

Screenshot_20200103-175059_Chrome

If you are my first, my 500th, 501st follower or any of my regular visitors and friends then this is for you…

Write for One or 501…

500 or 501,

5

Or

5 million; all these numbers have one thing in common!

They all start out as… 1,

And everytime you stop in to visit me, I’m reminded that whether I write for 1, 501 or 5 million followers, my writing starts out with

1 letter,

1 word,

1 sentence,

1 post, and my number

ONE goal will always be to write for

ONE and that

ONE

is me; I write for me, I take what’s in my heart, I treat it with the respect it deserves, I love it and then I set it free especially for you my first, my 500th or my 501st follower…

Making moments memorable…

This morning while cooking breakfast, I noticed the bubbles forming and bursting on the surface of my porridge; intent upon their job.  I held onto those air trapped moments, soaking them in! It’s difficult to explain the sensation of absolute awareness that I felt, other than it being a feeling of enhanced appreciation and total bliss.  Life was beautiful; just bubbles and me!

How often do you engage fully in the moment?  Can you describe the sensation?

Radiate because?

  1. via Daily Prompt: Radiate

I radiate because of you… my husband, my child, my friend, my fellow blogger…

I radiate because writing has opened up pockets of opportunity for self-expression, possibility and growth…

I radiate because today I can be the smile that makes somebody’s day…

I radiate because today I can be the kind words that take your worries away…

I radiate because tomorrow it might be too late to radiate…

I radiate…

20160420_085554

…because I can share hugs that replaces words and tell you that you radiate the world to me!

Think about it…

You radiate because…?

An Irish wave… topped off with a hug!

An irish Wave
Beautiful County Waterford coastline!

You can’t beat the sight or sound of a wave, or many waves to wash over you and sooth your spirit.   A friendly wave from across the street or from a friend as they drive past also lifts my spirit.  Top it off with a hug and you’re onto a winner.

Do waves and hugs improve your day?

Le grà,

Mindfully Marie.

carpenter, mile, Jupiter…

20180415_144528

For you,

Just you…

I’d beg a carpenter

To craft

Something,

as authentic as you.

For you,

In bare feet

I’d walk many a mile

And back

With a smile.

For you I’d implore

Jupiter,

chief Roman god,

the god of light,

of the sky and weather,

To bridge

the distance

between us,

So I

can give you

all the love,

I have to give!

Just so, you know,

That you are loved!

Mindfully Marie xx
