The Power is yours… Quote No. 43 “Encourage Yourself Encourage Other”

Quote No. 43 from Encourage Yourself Encourage Others by Anne Devine.

I feel like Anne wrote this one especially for me!

I’m enjoying the challenge of showing up to my blog, almost daily, to share Anne’s warm and insightfully encouraging quotes.  I’m also writing a gratitude journal.  Reading back through my Journal on Christmas Day last was the best gift I gave myself for Christmas and I’m pretty sure my happiness in sharing some precious memories flowed over onto my family.

What do you do to encourage yourself and encourage others?

Making moments memorable…

This morning while cooking breakfast, I noticed the bubbles forming and bursting on the surface of my porridge; intent upon their job.  I held onto those air trapped moments, soaking them in! It’s difficult to explain the sensation of absolute awareness that I felt, other than it being a feeling of enhanced appreciation and total bliss.  Life was beautiful; just bubbles and me!

How often do you engage fully in the moment?  Can you describe the sensation?

Just one minute Monday…

Today I’m spending the day relaxing on Inch Beach in the beautiful County Kerry. Inch is just one of many amazing spaces along the Wild Atlantic Way.  You can check it out here…

5km of beautiful beach…Inch Beach, County Kerry.

Today is a public holiday, part of the June Bank Holiday and we have fantastic temperatures between 22 and 25 degrees.  You can check out Met Eireann here…

And in the middle of all this beauty and relaxation I’m taking one minute to be really grateful and mindful of this beautiful weather.  It has been a long winter and a sunny day lifts everybody’s spirit!  It’s heart-warming to hear conversations and laughter blowing on the breeze and to see families spending time together, outdoors, soaking up the sun, building sand castles and swimming or surfing in the sea.  It also brings back many fond memories of holidays spent on the beach with our two children when they were young.

What might your Just one minute Monday be?

Much love,

Daily Prompt: Rapid Revival of Real…

via Daily Prompt: Rapid

Rapid is an adjective meaning happening in a short time or at a great rate.  Rapid can also be a noun meaning a fast-flowing, turbulent part of a river.

Modern living revolves around rapid…people’s lives have become entwined in rapid; everything must happen in a short time or at a great rate. We talk fast, think fast, move fast. We expect instant results, from our new diet, new hobby and even from our children.   We buy commodities and use them up fast.  We connect on social media to get ‘likes’ and ‘followers.’  But as quickly as people build a profile they are rapidly overtaken by the next sensation. Everything and everybody is disposable.  All is well until rapid turns to turbulent, then life is no longer stable or calm but characterised by conflict, disorder and confusion.  Getting life back on track may not be such a rapid process!

But we are amazing human beings. We are, real people, hidden underneath all the hurry and rush.  We can turn every negative into a positive…let’s start a tidal wave, a rapid revival of real with a friendly wave across a street, time for a chat with a neighbour, a phone call to a friend, a family meal around your table…even if it’s fast food, eaten slowly!

Be the Rapid Revival of Real!

Much love,

Marie xx

From above…

via Daily Prompt: Above

Everything comes from ‘Above’…

Rules and regulations come from ‘Above’,

Instructions at work come from ‘Above’,

Storm Emma…Red Weather Alert comes from ‘Above’

…and then the snow comes from ‘Above’ and it is ‘Above’ the flowers and the kerbs and the birds!

I am more than…but no more than…

Today my energy is low, I can’t say why because today is no different than any other day.  I didn’t do anything different than I did yesterday.

But this illness is unpredictable and that means that you can plan anything you want but whether you will achieve it or not is unpredictable and varies from day to day.

That’s just a part of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue which I have had to learn to accept.

My WP Stats are unpredictable as you can see…just like my fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue but I say that’s ok…I am not my WP Stats or my fibro/fatigue… I don’t need to fight… I accept… I am more than and yet no more than my innermost being…my true self!

My illness does not define me as a person.  It is not my story, I am not my fibromyalgia and I hope my blog shows exactly that!  I am not a victim. I don’t need sympathy or pity and I don’t feel sorry for myself.  Fibromyalgia does not make me into ‘someone’ – I already am someone exactly as I am…And that to me is ‘peace’…and therefore happiness!  I wish each and everyone of you ‘peace’… and happiness, no matter what story you choose for yourself!

Much love,

Marie xx

Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.

Another of Emma’s beautiful creations…using her talents…feeling very happy while busy creating!

“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left and could say, I used everything you gave me.”

Emma Bombeck.

Use everything you have been given…that’s the path to happiness and that’s my goal for life!

Much love
