Do you see the darkness when you look at this photo or do you see the light?
Do you see people panic buying and paralysed by the unprecedented changes to our daily lives caused by Covid19?
Or do you see ordinary people doing extra-ordinary things to reach out and support one another, in ways not seen before?
This is an opportunity to change our focus,
From
‘What about me?’
to
‘What can I do for you? And then realising, what that just did for me!’
We can all do something with the time we are being given!
What are you doing?
I’m working from home, at least until the 29th of March. After that the future is unclear but that doesn’t matter because we only have to focus on this, one day at a time!
I never thought supporting others with their literacy development by phone, e-mail and online could be so fulfilling. I’m finding myself present in somebody’s isolation. I’m a voice and a listening ear. I’m having conversations about the fear this virus is causing. And in the same conversation I’m talking about the power of being connected to each other and its positive impact on mental well-being. I’m highlighting the importance of distraction and the opportunity to set small learning goals…

I see a lovely red in that photo, which if observing for real, would make me feel settled and tiredness coming, if not already so by then.

What I love about this photograph is how the trees are silhouetted against the glorious sunset. It’s like embroidery. Beautiful!
I work from home so the virus situation is all seeming surreal to me. Hubby has been doing most of the shopping and getting what we can, even if we have to try out different things … whatever’s left really. I do watch the news and particularly enjoy some of the nicer and kinder reports that are we’re getting.
Nice post! 🙂

Hi Lesley, thank you for your visit and lovely feedback! It was a precious sight!
More requests on U.K news this evening to only buy what you need. In Ireland we are being reassured that stocks are constantly being replenished. It is upsetting on the elderly or vulnerable to see empty shelves. It would be good if there were more good news stories to balance the not so good! Stay safe! 🙂

Absolutely delightful Marie, this resonates deeply with me! What a wondrous way to connect by listening to their concerns and empowering them to read ❤
Love your pic, I see the fusion of colour and the starkness of naked trees [most of ours are evergreens :)] I've volunteered since a child and can't imagine not doing it. Altho I'm having an enforced break with this isolation 🙂

Thank you Kate, haven’t composed a post in a while but some things just compose themselves and you are just compelled to let it happen! We’ve had a hectic few days since schools shut but tonight I got a little time for project focus. Hope you are well. Road trip cancelled? X

thanks Marie, will do … yes I couldn’t possibly be in a better place. Many know we will have to go into lockdown and are coming down to their holiday homes so our population is swelling … but still rural 🙂

What a beautiful photo and reminder the sun sets and it rises. I know life will return to normal at some point, but until then, we are quarantined here in France. I do like the idea of setting small goals, evening and night. Hope you stay well and safe, Marie!

Glad you enjoyed my post Brenda and got something from it! No matter how much our lives change we still have our free will to choose how we see the situation and how we use our time. Do share if you set new goals and how you gain from it! We would all benefit from a little encouragement and good role models now! Stay safe! Xx

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and lovely photo!.. I will briefly check the news of a morning for any updates, etc..after that I set sail for the next adventure and help those who could use some support in some manner…. “When a friend is in trouble, don’t annoy the friend by asking if there is anything you can do. Think up something appropriate and do it.” (Author Unknown)… 🙂
Hope all is well with you and your family and until we meet again…
May the love that you give
Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
No suffering or strife,
May your spirit only know happiness
On your journey through life.

Marie this is profound and inspiring and at this time we all need to be keeping our utter trust and faith in God. Lending kindness and love to each and everyone and be positive in the midst of Virus. Everything will pass. Darkness will see the beautiful Light.

Honestly, I see both the positive and negative in our “new normal,” but I choose to focus more on the positive. It’s the only way to live, in my opinion.

Great post Marie. I can see some positives in the situation, in that we are being forced to reevaluate our priorities. I wonder how many will be unwilling to get back on the hamster wheel when this is over? x

Wonderful reflection Darren! It is I think an amazing opportunity to reevaluate our lifestyles. There is so much to life that is lost in a frantic lifestyle. Xx
