I love learning and the focus of my blog is “creating, living, learning.”
I especially love when learning comes about because you’ve seen something from a different perspective… like today when I learned something pretty important…
thanks to Donna @ A Year of Living Kindly and her excellent post and the quotes listed below
I realised the reason why I have to follow my heart and try to begin a conversation about bullying. I realised the reason I can’t stand back is because…
“The song I came to sing is left unsung. I spent my life stringing and unstringing my instrument.” Rabindranath Tagore.
And today I also found myself learning that I can’t let embarrassment of my wounds hold me back because…
“Nobody escapes being wounded. We are all wounded people, whether physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. The main question is not, ‘How can we hide our wounds?’ so we don’t have to be embarrassed, but ‘How can we put our woundedness in the service of others?’ When our wounds cease to be a source of shame, and become a source of healing, we have become wounded healers.” Professor and theologian Henri Nouwen.
Are you holding back from you song? Will you trust enough to sing your song? Will you hide your wounds or use them in the service of others? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Darren that’s so sweet of you, thank you. It is scary but as my GP, just said to me it’s good of me to want to share what I’ve learned whereas lots of people never share their learning. I have to grasp onto that as the thoughts of being a topic of discussion is scary. Yes I agree I think we will learn lots from Donna’s blog. Xx

More victims of bullying should speak out, including myself, but the bullying itself is good training for a life of trying to be invisible for fear of attracting the wrong attention. I wish I knew the answer to this.

You are speaking out Darren and I really appreciate what you bring to my posts! None of us should have to spend our lives “trying to be invisible,” we are meant to shine to our fullest and cast our light on others to ensure they learn to shine too! You do know the answer, you just need to trust and look within! Forever thankful for your continued company on this journey! Le grà, Marie

We all learn from sharing with each other and become wiser and better people as a result. Great post Marie.

Thank you Len, that’s nice to hear. I couldn’t agree more about the power of peer learning and WP provides the opportunity for plenty of that. We are a community of learners! Le grà, Marie

I admit. I sign my song. I was afraid to at first, but my wounds are similar, different, helpful, not as bad, worse, than anyone who listens to my song. Until I am finished singing… I will continue to write. Powerful post again, thanks, Marie.

It’s helpful to know you were afraid at first Kim, it’s kind of scary taking that first step but I trust that there is a reason. Thanks for your encouragement. Le grà, Marie xx

Metamorphically said Marie, thank you.
I sing through my blog, it fills by heart.
Ps, my little son was bullied for wearing glasses, being short, being sensitive. Ugh, terrible time.

Thank you so much, what a lovely affirming comment! I feel for you and your son and hope when you say “was bullied” that it was something that happened in the past but has been resolutely resolved! If not resolved it leaves a scar, sometimes visible…worse still invisible. You are in my thoughts & heart. Le grà, Marie xx

Beautiful thoughts Marie 🙂 Often being willing to sing our own song requires commitment, but it is so rewarding 🙂 ❤

Thanks Giulia, so many things can hold us back, fear of judgement, lack of self-belief and on and on… I’m glad this resonated with you!
