Today I’m taking one minute to think about my food.

I’ve deliberately paused to look at my food and consider what I am putting into my body. I’m trying to be conscious of how fast or slow I eat. This is a simple way to practice a little self-care. I want to be fully present with my food, really tasting it and noticing all its different flavours and consistencies.

I’m grateful for the variety of choices I have and for the opportunity to share food with extended family.
Do you ever stop to think about your food choices? How often do you really savor your food and notice the individual flavours? Do you practice self-care? Did you relax and have a good conversation over your breakfast or dinner today or did you eat it in a hurry while multi-tasking? I love your company here on Createspaceweb and I always look forward to your interesting comments!
Much love,
Marie xx

Your food pictures are making me hungry. 🙂 I love fruit and pasta. There really is nothing like the naturally sweet taste of a good ripe peach. Not even candy can compare to it. I’ve been called weird by my family for having simple tastes. For example, I enjoy the watery and moist texture of steamed vegetables without any flavoring, whereas someone else might find it tasteless without adding some salt or soy sauce to it.
Today I had a very small bowl of unsalted popcorn. I had less than I intended because I accidentally scorched the rest to a blackened crisp by microwaving the whole bag for too long. It was interesting to eat each kernel slowly and feeling the crunch of each one. By the end of it, I felt satisfied even though I ate very little.

Hi Nat, thanks for reading and adding your lovely comment! We only recently found peach donuts..yum! Fresh steamed veg are so sweet and crisp I’d be happy with them natural! I’ve been there with the popcorn disaster…we now pop our own, we can add our preferred amount of salt!

Yes, donut peaches are delicious! Lol they sound like a dessert rather than a fruit. 😉 I can understand salt on popcorn, but I have never gotten why people put butter on popcorn. It looks icky to me.

I think it would be so much easier to have a healthy diet if we all thought of food as fuel for our body, rather than something tasty for our mouths!

Hi Ann, yes that would be a good way to look at it…but the ‘tasty’ bit is where I fall down!!
