Today I’m taking a minute to savor the feeling of warm summer air on my skin. Have you ever paid attention to what warm air feels like on your skin?

We are having temperatures that are way higher than average for this time of year. We’ve had some days reach 30 degrees. This is our hottest summer in 100 years. I don’t think I can ever remember wearing summer clothes for so long. This is so out of the ordinary for Ireland. Our summer’s are usually a few days of sunshine mixed with cooler rainy days. A blue sky without rain-clouds is a rare sight! I can’t remember ever feeling our house so warm indoors, from early morning to last thing at night. Our windows and doors are flung open trying to generate a draught. Cooking over a hot cooker is a big no-no! I’ve never eaten so many light, healthy salads. We are eating breakfast and supper outdoors and it’s even too warm to eat dinner outside, we have to eat inside.
The warm air feels so healthy on my bare arms, my freckles are multiplying and I can’t stop looking up at the bright, cloudless blue sky thinking “Shur i have Spain at home!” I feel carefree!
How does warm air and blue skies make you feel?
Much love,
Marie xx

hmmmm. You are speaking to your Arizona friend. I admit I love our warm sunny days, and our endless blue skies, but I admit to rushing for the shade when I am outside and only getting in the pool when the sun goes down. It is too hot for us. Even so…. it IS summer. And I love the sound of summer. Your photo is beautiful, Marie. Probably nice fresh air too. Donna.

What is your average summer temperature Donna? I’m most comfortable in the shade too plus I don’t tan…just various shades of pale to freckled to lobster red which is not pleasant! The air is fresher now we are back around 20 degrees but not while we were 28 except in the mornings and late evenings…which were heaven! Glad you like the photo, our house was in the process of being painted…looking better now that the plinth colour has been added.

Our summers can average 40 C . So sometimes if the wind is blowing you feel like you are walking into a hair dryer. hahaha. Humidity is very low in the desert unless the monsoons come in, like this week. If we want to be outside we can travel north to much cooler temps, otherwise inside house projects are done in the summer months here.

Gosh that is hot, I love your description and can visualise you been blown back by the hair dryer!! You must depend on your air conditioning a lot. I know I couldn’t sleep without it in Spain.

I think it’s great to focus on the beauty of it, in the midst of this crazy heat wave when so many feel like they’re melting. I love the warmth in the breeze because usually it goes right through me and I can’t get warm again – when I dare to venture out of the cool of my basement. 🙂

Thank you for reading and responding! Isn’t there something so healthy about being able to be outdoors and not being cold and miserable! I’d be happy with 18 degrees plus!!

So beautiful! As for Florida – its so hot and humid, the humidity is the problem. It makes it feel hotter than it really is.

Hi, thanks for reading and replying, I found Spain so hot I couldn’t survive without the pool but at home indoors was comfortable with doors open. I can’t even begin to imagine coping with humidity as well…possibly if on holidays and free to cool of in the pool but if I had to work…I’d die…no thanks!!

Haha! Yeah it can get to that point of no return. 🤷🏽♀️ But then I don’t appreciate the snow. So, I guess Florida it is 😆

The sun can be a bit much in the summers in NY. If it is sunny all day long, walking in daylight hours can really make a person sweat. The usual temperature right now is anywhere between 80 to 89 but the 90s that sometimes sneak their way in are horrendous.

89 fahrenheit is 31 degrees celsius so we’ve experienced something similar!! Thanks for commenting.

It has been hot here in my hometown in Wisconsin – but I’m like you, I love to see the bright blue skies and feel the warmth on my skin. Summer is flying by so fast, and I’m not looking forward to a long winter without the warmth. Soak it up as much as possible is my motto. Lovely picture of the blue skies and your words spoke of the smile I imagine you had on your face as you enjoyed the breeze!

Hi Shelley, hot seems to be the buzz word this summer! And why do the weeks fly by so fast when the weather is great!! Like you I’m not looking forward to winter approaching either but nights at the fire are lovely too, once we readjust!! I’m glad you could see me in my writing, it’s a good feeling to paint a word picture!

It has been hot and muggy here lately. Not crazy about the muggy part though. But I’m enjoying the sunny days as you are. Enjoy!!

Once the sunny part out-weighs the muggy part that’s the main thing!! I’m glad you are getting enjoyment from it and I’m sure it’s helpful to your unpacking to have bright cheery days! Thanks for your company!

Marie, I love that you’re taking the time to be present and enjoy 🙂 the warm air! I’m aware of how important it is to come present – and how when I do that, I’m much more relaxed and centered.
Have a wonderful rest of your weekend. Stay cool!
Blessings,
Debbie
